EU Council validates agreement with China on geographical indications

The Member States of the European Union gave final approval to the EU-China Geographical Indications Agreement on Monday 23 November. It provides for the protection of 100 geographical designations for each of the two parties, so that the products concerned are protected against imitations on both markets (see EUROPE B12600A11).
