Emissions from maritime transport increased by 9.6% between 2012 and 2018, according to IMO

From 2012 to 2018, greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions from total maritime transport (international, domestic and fisheries) rose from 977 million tonnes to 1,076 million tonnes, an increase of 9.6%, according to the latest study on GHG emissions by the International Maritime Organization (IMO), which was published on Tuesday 4 August.
