Commission clarifies implementation of Audiovisual Media Services Directive

The European Commission recommends calculating the 30% quota of European works to be included in video-on-demand services’ catalogues on the basis of titles rather than broadcasting time (see EUROPE B12343A4). This is what emerges from the guidelines it published on Thursday 2 July to accompany the implementation of the Audiovisual Media Services Directive 2018/18/08 of 2018. 

This directive concerns in particular new media such as YouTube and Netflix and aims to introduce stricter rules...
