Reducing greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by 65% by 2030 is possible, but requires rapid action both in terms of technology deployment and lifestyle changes, says a report published on Monday 22 June by Climact, a consultancy organisation.
In terms of sectoral efforts to achieve such a reduction, the report indicates that the phase-out of coal should be accelerated to 25 TWh in 2030, in favour of renewable energies and without adding new gas capacity.
