EU Council adopts its conclusions on tax treatment of new tobacco products

03/06/2020 (Agence Europe) – On Tuesday 2 June, following approval by a written procedure, the Council of the EU formally adopted the conclusions updating the EU regulatory framework on rates of excise duty applied to manufactured tobacco (see EUROPE B12492A24). The Member States' Ambassadors to the EU (Coreper) had already given the text the green light on 27 May (see EUROPE B12494A19).
