Phil Hogan announces “stronger” safeguard measures for steel

28/05/2020 (Agence Europe) – In a meeting by videoconference with the European Parliament's Committee on International Trade (INTA) on Thursday 28 May, EU Trade Commissioner Phil Hogan announced to MEPs concerned about the state of health of the steel industry that he had notified the WTO and Member States on the same day of the changes he intended to make to the safeguard measures regarding steel (see EUROPE B12426A16).
