Member States’ experts give green light for a risk category 3 classification of coronavirus for workers

The Technical Progress Committee gave a positive opinion on the classification of the SARS-CoV-2 virus in risk category 3 on Thursday 14 May in the late morning, confirmed the European Commission.

As a reminder, a meeting of the group of experts on the Directive on biological agents (2000/54/EC) on 27 April unanimously proposed classifying the virus in the second most dangerous category of biological agents (category 3) alongside the SARS and MERS viruses, and not in the most dangerous...
