European Commission will not propose to postpone implementation of Posting of Workers Directive

There will be no postponement of the implementation of the Posting of Workers Directive, which will therefore be applied, as planned, on 30 July next, according to a letter from the Commissioner for Jobs and Social Rights, Nicolas Schmit, addressed to BusinessEurope and seen by EUROPE on Monday 4 May.

The new provisions, in particular the switch from ‘minimum rates of pay’ to ‘remuneration’, remain essential to ensure adequate protection of posted workers and guarantee fair service...
