In 2019, the European Border and Coast Guard Agency (Frontex) helped to return 15,850 persons subject to a return decision to their country, compared to 13,730 in 2018. The head of the European agency, Fabrice Leggeri, welcomed this modest progress on Friday 17 January in Brussels when he presented the annual report on Frontex’s activities to the press.
