Arrivals by sea slightly down in 2019, according to IOM

06/01/2020 (Agence Europe)The International Organisation for Migration (IOM) has established that 110,669 people arrived in the EU by sea in 2019 and 1,283 people died on the three main sea routes into the EU. In 2018, 116,273 migrants and refugees arrived in the EU by sea and 2,299 people lost their lives. At least 19,164 people have gone missing in the Mediterranean Sea since 2014.
