Despite the agreement reached on 17 October between the European Union and the British Government on an orderly exit of the United Kingdom from the EU, the risk of a disorderly exit “still exists” as long as this agreement has not been ratified, the EU’s chief negotiator, Michel Barnier, told members of the European Economic and Social Committee (EESC) on Wednesday 30 October.
He spoke on the day after British MPs decided to call parliamentary elections for 12 December.
