There is no demand for a NATO mission, according to Jens Stoltenberg

NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg explained on Wednesday 31 July that there has been no request for an Alliance mission in the Gulf, while tensions are still high in the Strait of Hormuz.

The United States and the United Kingdom (see EUROPE B12302A17) want to set up naval missions in the area.

The Allies are all concerned about the situation in the Gulf; freedom of navigation is very important. Several allies already have assets in the Gulf, but there is no demand for a NATO...
