On 16 July, Malaysia announced its intention to file a complaint with the World Trade Organisation (WTO) against the European Union regulation to remove palm oil from European biofuels by 2030.
Last April, Malaysia, Indonesia and three other palm oil producing countries already asked the EU to suspend the implementation of the provisions restricting the use of certain palm oils in biofuels at a meeting of the WTO Council for Trade in Goods (see EUROPE B12237A27).
