Sugar report shows differences between countries on coupled support and neonicotinoids

The High Level Group on Sugar’s report, which will be presented to Agriculture Ministers on Monday 15 July, admits that the usual market measures have not been able to address the difficulties faced by the sector since the end of production quotas on 30 September 2017 (see EUROPE B12294A5).

The national experts in this group are divided on two issues: the use of coupled support (which remains linked to the volumes produced) for beet and emergency authorisations for neonicotinoids.
