Euro area annual inflation rate down to 1.2% in May

04/06/2019 (Agence Europe) – Euro area annual inflation was 1.2% in May, down by 0.5 percentage points from April (see EUROPE B12257A8), according to a flash estimate from the Statistical Office of the European Union (Eurostat) on Tuesday 4 June. Compared to May 2018, this decline in the annual inflation rate is more pronounced, having reached 2.0% at that time.
