Green light from Member States to open negotiations with the United States on access to electronic evidence

22/05/2019 (Agence Europe) – Member States' ambassadors to the EU (Coreper), as announced, endorsed on Wednesday 22 May the draft Council of the EU decision authorising the European Commission to open negotiations with the United States on an agreement on cross-border access to electronic evidence (see EUROPE B12259A6). In its draft decision, the Council of the EU clearly indicates to the European Commission that it wishes to be closely involved in these negotiations.
