Strengthening the use of mutual recognition instruments for judicial decisions in the EU has been one of Romania's priority themes during its Presidency of the Council of the EU (see EUROPE B12173A16). The next step is the adoption of a report proposing a “way forward” which should be submitted to the Member States' national ambassadors to the EU (Coreper) in mid-May, with a view to its adoption at the June Justice Council.
