Commission approves new French protected geographical indication

07/02/2019 (Agence Europe) – The European Commission announced on Thursday 7 February that it had approved the application to include the 'Bay of Granville whelk' in the Community register of protected geographical indications (PGI). The 'Bay of Granville whelk' is a gastropod that is fished and landed in Granville Bay in the English Channel, west of the Cotentin peninsula, and sold in its shell.
