Commission could launch an infringement procedure against Netherlands on electric fishing

The Legal Service of the European Commission's Directorate-General for Maritime Affairs and Fisheries (DG MARE) has proposed the opening of an infringement procedure against the Netherlands, due to the excessive number of licences to fish with electric trawls, confirmed several sources on Tuesday 5 February. 

It will be up to the European Commission to decide, at a forthcoming meeting of the College of Commissioners, whether or not to launch this infringement procedure by sending a letter...
