EU calls for an investigation into death of political opponent Mher Yegiazarian

28/01/2019 (Agence Europe) – The spokesperson of the European External Action Service, Maja Kocijancic, called on Monday 28 January for an investigation into the death of Mher Yegiazarian, after a more than 50 day hunger strike. Vice-president of a small political party, The Armenian Eagles: United Armenia, Mr Yegiazarian was arrested on 4 December on charges of extorting money that was allegedly used for bribes in order to obtain employment or other services.
