Copernicus programme mobilised following earthquake and tsunami in Indonesia

02/10/2018 (Agence Europe) – The Emergency Management Service in the European Copernicus terrestrial observation programme was mobilised immediately after the earthquake and tsunami that struck Lombok (see EUROPE 12073) on Friday 28 September. Objective: provide a precise cartography of the damages in nine different zones on the island. Around 2900 buildings have been destroyed and 10,000 have been damaged, according to initial data.
