Record profits for EU fishing fleet in 2016

The annual economic report (AER) on the European Union fishing fleet, published by the Joint Research Centre on Monday 1 October, shows the unprecedented economic results of the sector in 2016.

The report shows that the EU fishing fleet notched up record-high net profits of €1.3 billion in 2016, i.e. a 68% increase compared with 2015.
