Adopting the own-initiative report of Belgium's Mark Demesmaeker (ECR) by an overwhelming majority (597 votes to 15 and 25 abstentions), the European Parliament has endorsed the EU plastics strategy, presented by the Commission in January to ensure that by 2030, all plastic packaging will be reusable or recyclable (see EUROPE 11974, 11941).
