Internet giants will have one hour to withdraw terrorist content, failing which they will be fined

The Commission is concerned that individuals may become radicalised on the internet from home.  It is troubled at seeing how terrorist organisations such as Da’esh use Internet platforms, explained the EU commissioner for security, Julian King, on Thursday 13 September.

The proposal for a regulation unveiled by the Commission goes further than the self-regulating approach adopted until now.  If it is adopted as it is, the digital giants will have one hour in which to withdraw all hate...
