On Thursday 24 May, the European Parliament’s civil liberties committee endorsed the choice of Italian prosecutor, Antonio Mura, to sit on the committee responsible for selecting the head of the European Prosecutor’s Office along with European prosecutors.
A new vote was organised after the rejection by the plenary in early May of the candidacy of MEP Rachida Dati (EPP, France), despite her having been the choice of the LIBE committee (see EUROPE 12014).
