ACEA says post-2021 CO2 standards for cars and vans must be conditional on availability of infrastructure

The European Automobile Manufacturers Association (ACEA) has set out further recommendations on the new CO2 emissions standards for new cars and vans proposed by the European Commission in November of last year (see EUROPE 11952 and 11900). ACEA says that the draft regulation aiming for an average reduction of 30% in emissions from new vehicles in the EU (compared with 2021) with an intermediate target of a 15% reduction by 2025 needs to ensure that structural changes are in place.
