In 2017, 2,201 non-food consumer products presented a risk for consumer health or safety and were notified through RAPEX, an EU rapid alert system for non-food dangerous products. This figure has risen slightly (2,044 in 2016), according to the annual report “RAPEX 2017”, published on Monday 12 March by the European Commission.
