The Fifteen hope to reach agreement on how to conduct negotiations with third countries on tax on savings

Brussels, 12/10/2001 (Agence Europe) - The EcoFin Council of 16 October in Luxembourg, chaired by Didier Reynders, should note an agreement that will enable the Commission to begin negotiations with third countries on the tax on savings, and adopt conclusions on the tax on pensions. Ministers should give the Commission the go-ahead to draw up a report on globalisation and development.
