German Bundestag approves CETA

02/12/2022 (Agence Europe) – The Bundestag (lower house of the German parliament) approved the ratification of the Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement between the EU and Canada (CETA) with a large majority of votes (559 for, 110 against) on Thursday 1 December. The other chamber, the Bundesrat, must now do the same. The agreement entered into force provisionally in 2017 and awaits ratification by all EU Member States. 16 of them have already done so.
