On Thursday 1 December, members of the European Parliament’s Environment Committee validated (47 votes in favour, 30 against, 2 abstentions) the provisional political agreement reached by the Council of the EU and the European Parliament on 27 October (see EUROPE B13064A32) on stricter CO2 emission performance standards for new cars and vans.
