Work is progressing in the EU Council on the proposal for an EU Council and European Parliament decision on the non-recognition of Russian travel documents issued in the occupied foreign regions (see EUROPE B13015A6), with a compromise proposal from the Czech Presidency submitted on Thursday 29 September.
The first proposal from Prague is to replace the term ‘non-recognition’ with non-’acceptance’ of documents issued by the Russian authorities to these territories.
